Hi, I'm Barry Maddocks, and I've had the pleasure of building an exciting career in the hair industry over the years. My passion for the creative side of hairdressing, combined with my experience in education, live stage demonstrations, and managing a busy salon, has allowed me to grow and contribute in so many ways. Here's a bit more about my journey.
I’ve had the incredible opportunity to assist Eugene Souleiman at London Fashion Week, working on high-profile shows for brands like Tommy Hilfiger and Versace. It was an honour to be a Wella TrendVision UK Finalist for two consecutive years (2017 and 2018), and during that time, I was selected for the Wella Generation Now Artistic Team. This gave me the chance to showcase live demonstrations at Salon International and Pro Hair Live, which were exciting moments in my career.
Continuing my work with Wella, I went on to judge the Wella Xposure photographic round in 2018, and I also earned the highly regarded Wella Colour Specialist qualification. Over the years, my work has been featured internationally in magazines such as Estetica. One of my proudest achievements was being a finalist at the British Hairdressing Awards (Wales and South West) in 2018.
In 2019, I joined the Celebrity X-Factor hair team, where I worked alongside the brilliant Adam Reed. Today, I’m proud to be a member of the L'Oréal ID Artistic Team and a L'Oréal Certified Colour Specialist. In October 2020, I stepped into the role of Artistic Director for Harringtons Winchester, and most recently, I’ve been named a Brand Ambassador for Salon Sustainability.
Alongside all of this, I co-founded ME Collective, a hair salon in the heart of Winchester, with Jo Eykyn. This new venture is an exciting chapter where I get to focus on creativity, sustainability, and providing exceptional hair experiences to my clients. I'm incredibly passionate about what I do and am always looking forward to sharing that passion with my clients and my team.
