Q: Can you tell me a little about yourself?
A: My name is Aline Knee, and I am thrilled to be speaking with you today. With over 15 years of experience in the beauty industry, I have had the opportunity to develop my skills and expertise in a range of areas. Currently, I am the creative colour director and national educator for Keune, where I am based at The House of Keune by Bloom in Holborn. It’s been a fulfilling journey for me, and I’m excited to share some of my experiences with you.
Q: What got you into hairdressing?
A: It all started when I landed a receptionist job at a hair salon. It was at that moment when I had my “Ahaaaa” epiphany and realized that I had discovered the missing piece of my life’s puzzle. Given that I didn’t come from a family of hairdressers, my journey to get where I am today was a bit complex.
Q: What do you love about your job
A: As a hairdresser, I am deeply passionate about the artistry involved in our craft, from the act of painting to the human connection that comes with our role. I take pride in the fact that we have the ability to transform lives and create meaningful changes for our clients. It’s a truly stunning industry that I feel grateful to be a part of.
Q: Who or where do you take your inspiration within the industry from?
A: As a hairdresser in London, I find inspiration everywhere, from the bustling streets to the endless possibilities of social media. With so much access to talent and creativity, the opportunities for inspiration are truly endless. One of my favourite aspects of this job is being able to create custom pieces that are tailored to each individual’s unique style and preferences. I find that my clients and models often become a significant source of inspiration themselves, driving me to push my limits and explore new techniques to bring their visions to life.
Q: What’s next for you and your career?
A: As a newly appointed National Educator at Keune, my main focus right now is sharing my love and knowledge for the hairdressing industry. I believe that there is always something new to be learned and explored, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to inspire and educate others. It’s an exciting time, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me.
